Music attorney and artist advocate Miss Krystle has filed class action lawsuits against generative AI music companies Suno and Udio, accusing them of copyright infringement on behalf of independent artists, producers and songwriters.
“These companies have admitted… to taking in some instances tens of millions of publicly available songs,” Miss Krystle said in a recent video statement. “I allege the far majority of those songs belong to you—independent music creators.”
The lawsuits follow similar legal action taken by major labels Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group, which sued Suno and Udio in June 2024. While those suits aim to protect label-owned catalogs, Miss Krystle’s effort targets the lack of protection for independent creators.
“I want to be clear—I’m not anti-AI,” she said. “I am anti-big corporations… that can’t be bothered to pay you for your music and instead outrageously opt for theft.”
Miss Krystle is partnering with EKSM, a prominent class action firm, and her own firm, Delgado Entertainment Law. She cited a recent report from the U.S. Copyright Office that questioned whether using expressive content like music to train AI models could qualify as fair use.
The class action demands both damages for affected artists and a permanent injunction preventing similar data use in the future. Independent creators can join the lawsuit or sign up for updates at
