The Marathon team just released the first round of posthumous music from Nipsey Hussle with the drop of PROLIFIC, a joint album with Bino Rideaux. PROLIFIC is the second joint project they have put together. It has been seven years since Nip was killed in front of his store at the corner of Crenshaw and Slauson, and a lot has happened along the way for the team. They have faced challenges ranging from a legal battle to maintain ownership of the brand and fighting leaked verses from artists like The Game and Kanye West, to finally getting the new Marathon Store open on Melrose.
Blacc Sam and Bino have taken the lead on the national press run for the album, and the campaign culminated in a celebratory launch at the Complex x Marathon pop-up on Fairfax. Fans and friends of the team pulled up to experience the curated atmosphere, meet the team, take photos, and purchase exclusive items from the PROLIFIC clothing line launched by The Marathon team. The PROLIFIC brand appears specifically focused on Nipsey Hussle imagery and design work, which stands out since Nip himself is rarely featured directly on Marathon Clothing pieces.

Outside the venue, the infamous All Money In armored truck was parked next to The Marathon Burger trailer. Stepping inside felt like walking into a living photobook. Plush Nipsey-blue carpet and ambient LEDs complemented black-and-white photo spreads posted along each wall, showcasing pictures of Nip and Bino from their childhood years to young adulthood.
An oversized video projection behind the DJ booth played music videos from the album alongside archive footage of Nipsey and Bino. The project blasted through high-quality speakers while DJ H2D took over the decks to spin for a couple of hours.
Bino handled the meet-and-greet, signing vinyl records and shirts, while Cobby Supreme and BH from the Marathon team stopped through to show support. Dom Kennedy came by as well. Standing in the room, fully absorbed in the energy and surrounded by family, friends, and longtime supporters, the atmosphere carried a distinctly bittersweet tone. While it was a celebration, everyone wished Nip could have been there to witness it firsthand.
Through it all, the Marathon team continues to push forward and build the legacy every day, exactly as Nip intended. It serves as a reminder that if they are still running, you should keep pushing through whatever marathon you are in. As Nipsey once put it: “I might die up in these streets, but I’ll survive through my name.”
