Blxst's "I'll Always Come Find You" tour rolled into Dallas' South Side Ballroom, transforming the venue into a full-blown mechanic's fantasy. But before the headliner took the stage, the night kicked off with an energetic performance from rising star Joony. While unfamiliar to some, Joony quickly won over the crowd with his infectious energy and undeniable stage presence. The 23-year-old Maryland native, known for his genre-bending sound that blends elements of hip-hop, indie-pop, and alternative R&B, had the audience vibing to tracks from his latest project, Pretty In Black. Having already collaborated with heavy hitters like Brent Faiyaz and Charlie Heat, Joony proved he's a force to be reckoned with in his own right, setting the stage for an unforgettable night of music.
Following Joony's impressive opening set, Leon Thomas kept the momentum going. Bathed in a crimson glow, Thomas serenaded the crowd with tracks from his recent album, Mutt, and a selection of his songwriting hits. A blazing red guitar added an extra layer of heat to his already impressive set.
Then, it was time for the main event. Blxst's performance was pure magic. The stage morphed into a slick car-themed spectacle, complete with a classic Monte Carlo and a wall of shimmering rims, creating an immersive visual experience. The automotive theme extended to the wardrobe, with dancers and a standout background vocalist rocking mechanic-inspired gear. Blxst himself even showed off some moves, joining in on the choreography with his dancers.
The energy in the room was electric as Blxst commanded the multi-level stage, keeping the crowd on their toes. His dynamic performance, combined with the eye-catching set design and captivating dancers, made for an unforgettable night for Dallas fans.
This show was a testament to both Blxst' and Leon Thomas' rising star power and their ability to craft an immersive concert experience. Dallas definitely got fixed up with a night of top-tier R&B, leaving fans eager for more.
